About Us
Jeff
Evans, founder of MountainVision Inc, grew up
scampering around the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and
North Carolina but soon found that the higher mountains of
Colorado would be the ideal setting to challenge himself as
a mountain guide. At the age of 19, Jeff packed up his truck
and relocated to the Front Range of Colorado where he
started his love affair with the Rocky Mountains.
Jeff spent years playing and
working in the mountains cultivating the skills necessary to
guide successfully at a high level. He spent 5 summers in
Alaska working as a guide on Mt McKinley as well as a Search
and Rescue Ranger for the National Park Service. This was a
critical period in Jeff’s development as a guide in
challenging situations at extreme altitudes.
Early on, Jeff accepted the
role as the primary guide for blind athlete/climber Erik
Weihenmayer. Together, they problem solved methods of travel
and communication to tackle the hardest climbing and
mountaineering projects any disabled athlete had ever
attempted. Some of their more notable ascents include Mt
McKinley, El Capitan, Leaning Tower, Aconcagua, culminating with a
successful summit of Mt Everest in 2001 that gained much
international attention as the first successful blind summit
of the highest mountain in the world.
Somewhere
squeezed between his years of mountain guiding, Jeff found
time to finish his training as an Emergency Medicine
Physician Assistant. He has focused his medical training
even more with an emphasis on travel and altitude medicine,
stressing safety and health on every one of his
MountainVision trips.
Jeff has
established MountainVision Expeditions
to enable adventurous persons to challenge themselves on
some of the most well known and exotic treks and expeditions
available today. His goal on every trip is to inspire his
new friends to accept the challenges of the natural world,
discover the wonder of new cultures and find new levels of
personal growth.
Our Guides
Nickson
Moshi
has been guiding in Africa since he was 15 years
old. He now has a very successful business and is a leader
of his tribe of 3,000 people. Being the owner and founder of
Masai giraffe, Nickson offers his individual expertise as a
game tracker, and as a dedicated, conscientious guide. His
extensive knowledge about the wildlife, geography, plant
life, the history, people, and culture of Tanzania adds an
invaluable perspective to your adventure.
Nickson’s
appreciation for the environment, animal life, and natural
wonders of his home country comes across in the manner in
which he conducts his safaris, hikes, and activities. Being
born and raised in Tanzania, he does not offer activities
other than those about which he is personally
knowledgeable. The guides and porters he professionally
chooses to accompany his clients on those activities are, in
Nickson’s estimation, some of the most qualified and
responsible available. The guides are fluent in English
while some speak Italian, German, and other European
languages. Having nine years of personal guiding experience
as a basis for the competence Nickson assures your comfort,
your contentment, and your overall pleasure with the
expeditions he heads up.
Nickson
serves as the head Kilimanjaro guide for
MountainVision and has guided over 100 of our
clients to the summit safely. He is committed to safety and
health above all when guiding MountainVision clients
throughout Africa.

 Nic
Cunningham
has been guiding for the last four years since graduating
from St. John’s University in Minnesota. He has guided
extensively in Southeast Alaska as well as the Western
United States and South America. Nic is well on his
way to climbing the Seven Summits with Mt. Everest and Mt.
Vinson still to come. Nic has spent multiple seasons
in the Wasatch backcountry taking big turns in the steep and
deep powder of Utah while taking time to play in the desert
and exploit the beautiful rock climbing of the west.
From the farmlands of Minnesota where he grew up, to the
great mountain ranges of the world, Nic brings a great
mountaineering skill set, a great attitude, and a big smile
to all things in life.
