Michael's films have received over thirty international film festival awards as well as many industry awards including three national Sports Emmy awards from five nominations. He is known for tenacity and a ‘can do’ attitude about film production. This attitude and love of adventure has brought him, camera in hand, to the summit of Mount Everest three times from different routes. He has also been a part of several fist kayak descents of white water rivers and exploration of unclimbed summits.
With the help of Sherpas and a great team, Michael brought the first high definition (HD) video camera to the summit of Mount Everest in 2001. He was there to direct and shoot the historic National Federation of the Blind Expedition with blind climber Erik Weihenmayer. Michael later edited the award winning film “Farther Than the Eye Can See” about this amazing adventure.
