There are countless trekking and guiding companies out there for you to chose from. So what seperates us from the rest?
From the beginning, our main objective has been to provide every trip participant a rich and memorable experience by incorporating several critical approaches towards every adventure…
Taking the Road Less Traveled
While you will find other companies running trips to similar destinations, MountainVision trips are fresh and unique because of the fact that we always will attempt to take the less traveled route in order to reach the final destination. This significantly increases the quality of our trips. For example, our Machu Picchu trip follows the somewhat obscure Ankascocha Trail which is a less traditional path that receives fewer people per year and climbs in elevation nearly 2,000 feet higher than the classic Inca Trail. Our trip through the magical kingdom of Bhutan takes a side track to up to the very infrequently visited Taktshang Monastery.. And our post-Kilimanjaro safari is worth the trip to Africa on its own... a great adventure to share with family or friends who are not interested in the Kilimanjaro summit climb and would like to meet you after you return from the mountain. We aim to make all family members happy!
Immersing in the Culture
Mountaineering and trekking are great excuses to travel and learn about the world and different cultures. We are always thrilled to introduce you to all of the friends we have made on each of our trips, giving you the opportunity to interact with local customs, foods and culture. Once you arrive in the country where your trip will take place, your guide will help you learn and absorb the culture around you, not feel isolated from it. On every adventure we will attempt to participate in either a community service project or visit a local school or organization through The Project MountainVision Foundation.
Combining Safety and Fun
We are first and foremost concerned about health and safety when it comes to our trips. When group size necessitates it, all MountainVision trips will have a medical officer along the way. Jeff is our primary medical officer and is a practicing ER Physician Assistant with years of experience in travel medicine as well as treating all forms of altitude illnesses. If Jeff isn’t along on the trip and group size requires it, there will be a board certified MD with travel medicine experience to fill the role as trip medical officer. We also make a point to work with only the best local outfitters who are just as fanatical about hygiene and safety as we are. You can’t enjoy the experience if you are sick, so we take health and safety very seriously and are able to provide you with some of the most prominent trip physicians for your health and wellbeing.
Following Along at Home
Beginning in 2007 all MountainVision treks and expeditions will be sending live dispatches out with photos, anecdotal stories and video segments. Family and friends will now be able to keep up with the progress of each of our expeditions.
With You From Beginning to End
We will assist you in every facet of your trip…including random issues that many other companies leave you scratching your head about: pre-departure training, flight itineraries, vaccines and medical issues, gear purchases, obtaining visas, travel health, packing tricks…the list goes on. Another very unique feature we provide our clients is our Colorado based pre-trip training hikes. This is an opportunity to spend the day with us on a 14,000 ft mountain, hiking, discussing and preparing for your upcoming trip with us. We are here to help throughout every phase of your adventure.
Success, However You Define it
We are dedicated to helping you assess your goals and definitions of success while seeking out your adventures. The accomplishments attained while climbing enrich one's life far beyond the events of a particular summit. We stress the fact that we all have different definitions of a summit…the fun part is finding the road towards your own particular summit. The preparation, training and dreaming that precede a great adventure are a big part of the total experience and we will be with you every step of the way to help you achieve your goals.
We live in a wonderful world that’s full of beauty, charm and adventure and there’s no end to the adventures we can have if just seek them with our eyes wide open to create that vision.
